Halloween Meatball Rat & Potato – Best Cheap Easy Holiday Party Food Decor Project

To make the rat meat ball:

  1. Combine beef, veal, and pork in a large bowl. Add garlic, eggs, cheese, parsley, salt and pepper.
  2. Blend bread crumbs into meat mixture. Slowly add the water 1/2 cup at a time. The mixture should be very moist but still hold its shape if rolled into meatballs. (I usually use about 1 1/4 cups of water). Shape into meatballs, with 2 size for the head & the body.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet. Fry meatballs in batches. When the meatball is very brown and slightly crisp remove from the heat and drain on a paper towel. (If your mixture is too wet, cover the meatballs while they are cooking so that they hold their shape better.)

To make the potato:

  1. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add potatoes and cook until tender but still firm, about 15 minutes; drain.
  2. In a small saucepan heat butter and milk over low heat until butter is melted. Using a potato masher or electric beater, slowly blend milk mixture into potatoes until smooth and creamy. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

To assemply:

  1. Put mashed potatoes in plate, place 2 meat ball with 2 different sizes together to form a little mouse.
  2. Use a kitchen knife, cut 2 holes at the head, then insert 2 thin slices of carrot to these holes to make the ears.
  3. Stick the thick boiled spaghetti pasta to the big meat ball to form the rat’s tail.
  4. Insert 4 thin un-cook spaghetti pasta, 3 black pepper for the face & serve with your favorite sauce!
